And....? Did you end up selling your bike?

 

No. Did I say I was selling it? I really havent had time to look at it anymore. I'm just going to ride it until I get new grips. If that doesn't fix it I'll figure something else out. I was just worried that the cable was too dry. But I know now that isn't the case.

 

What are you using to lube the cables? Oil should not be used as it attracts dirt and as a result will turn gummy. I recommend using Dri-Slide. You can usually find it in sporting goods stores that sell firearms or just Google it.

If you took you throttle grip/control apart, as in loosened the clamping screws, it is possible that you pushed the throttle assembly too far onto the handle bar and the end of the grip is touching the end of the handle bar. This will definitely cause the throttle to stick. Don't know if you checked that yet or if anyone else had mentioned it. Easy to check, just loosen the screws and slide it back an eighth inch, retighten and see what happens.

 

Here's your fix. No lube or new grips needed.

After reading this post, I realized my throttle was a little sticky. I only had the bike a week, so I'm learning a bit as I go. I didn't realize that **** was under the grip to act as a cruise or whatever.
I loosened the ****, but the throttle was still sticking when the grip housing was screwed on tight.

All I did was take a piece of foil tape (closest thing) and put it on the bar under where it clamps. So when the screw is tight it wont squeeze on the inside end of the grip more than it needs to. Grip spins back to zero now.
