Changed out my stock rear rim for a 18"x4.25" with a 140/70 Meztler. Relaced the front with twisted polished stainless spokes and a 90/90 Meztler.

Very nice, I wish I had gone with a bigger rear rim when I switched my wheels. Looks alot better!

Looks great. An 18" rear rim is such an improvement on a Harley. I'm running an 18x5.5 and it was one of my best decisions for the bike.

Well I have some info to share. I did not notice the first night I rode home after having this work done, but the next day I noticed a wobble in the front end between 30 and 40 mph. Also during a right turn it felt like the tire wanted to hop off the ground, but not during a left turn. Well, I figured it was either not balanced or the rim need to be re-trued. Couple of people sudjested that maybe the tire was not seated well. As it turns out the new tire was bad. A section of the sidewall was thicker than the rest. You could feel it when you ran the sidewall between your thumb and fingers.

I'm glad you wrote that about your tire experience. I changed to Metzlers 2 weeks ago, or about 800 miles...
first ride they were slippery feeling, but after about 100 miles started to grip like crazy.
Then the past 400 miles it felt like you described, wobble in the front at slower speeds, and feeling like it's going to let go on right turns. thought I had oil on the sidewall, or air pressure was down. Neither was the case.
Tomorrow I am going to check the casing and tread.

When they were working hands down the best tires I 've run.

BTW, the 18" rear is on my wish list now.
