Do you just scrape your vehicles when you are done with them or resell/trade them? No working dash means fewer buyers. I have rebuilt 30-40 year old speedometers and tachometers.

the UK recently deployed live fire laser weapons that took out incoming missiles with a 100% success rate .. point being, you can't stop the tech train so embrace it or refuse to be part of it, your choice. . I don't fuss, fret or worry about this stuff as much as some do I guess

with 18,000 miles on my 9 month old 24 RG, despite some minor glitches that have been addressed with TSBs, I'm thoroughly enjoying this one more than my previous models ... also love our 2022 Lexus ES much more than our 2016 Toyota Avalon...etc.

I embrace tech that works. Fuel injection, fly by wire, even ABS. I draw the line where it intrudes into my safety as a rider. For instance, tire pressure monitors on a motorcycle. I check my pressure and at the same time look at the tread, wear, look for cracks or slices, nail heads.

I feel tech is abused when you are so comfortable with it you start to forget it’s your responsibility. If it is more than a tool, you are trusting it too much. It’s like checking your Cessna 172 before each flight. I don’t want someone’s soft wear to tell me I’m okay. I don’t mind its assistance, but in reality, it’s no better than a cheap tool that is subject to break. Its main feature….its cool!, until it isn’t.

I will say that I, for one, am glad Harley doesn’t make airplanes😜

I didn't watch the video, too long. But HD won't support anything over 10 years old, right? Will the value of these 2024+ touring bikes plummet worse than the pre-fancy-dashboard models? I guess we'll see.......

HD will probably change those dashes out for a newer edition in a couple of years. So these digital screens will have a narrow couple of years usage. I have run into this in many parts aspects.

Not to mention the IFCU w/Skyline OS is already old technology. It’s been in Volvos for several years already.

I wouldn’t worry at all… hi tech interior has been implemented in automotive scene for decades and people are getting more knowledgable and creative as well… I have seen people repairing lcd speedo, touchscreen, etc with various embedded functions on decades old cars with no problem whatsoever. I really don’t see if it’s any different to our 2024 screen, worse come to worse the Chinese will make complete replacement screen in a few years time and they will keep on selling it until 20-30 years later. Just look at so many Lexus/Mercedes/BMW new aftermarket screens on Alibaba, they still make these for decades old cars…It’s all about making money, as long as there are enough post 2024 Harleys in the world…

Most new riders that have casually rode and now can afford a 24 bike with that kind of technology on them should be ready to also pay the piper if it fails . I for one will have an extended warranty on the bike because if a BCM or IFCU fails won’t be able to buy it. When I am traveling 3000 miles from home and it fails I want to feel comfortable enough to say , Hey mister HD Dealership, please fix my bike, I’m on a trip so next day air the parts if you have to , I need to keep going on my trip. My 21 is almost at that point that I don’t feel confident enough about going into it. That is why i bought a 5 year ESP from Jim Palmer. Same with my F150 with the big tablet in the middle of the dash. They call it progress.???
