My experience with the 8 harleys I have owned is that Service is usually done by the lowest skilled and untrained techs they have. It's a crap shoot if they get the fluid levels right and do all the checks they are supposed to.
Personally, I do my own service as I don't want to pay a high price for low quality work.

It's really sad how HD has almost everyone believing the we must do your service or the warranty is void/flagged BS.. Complete BS, 14K miles on my 23 CVO HD has done ZERO service on my bike, down load the service check list, Pictures and receipts is all you need. Oh don't forget the Beer..

You paid for that service one way or the other. There's no such thing as 'free'. If it is free, then they are motivated to "process improve for ROI", meaning cut cost wherever and whenever possible.
Note: I say "you" but I intend this comment to include anyone that gets a 'free' service package of some kind at purchase.

Ever since San Jose Harley tried to send me on my way with a missing rear master cyclender cover when I was there to have a new fob programed, I now do all my own non recall work myself. Suspect the kid making $18/hr is butt hurt that he can't afford a $30-40K bike and gives zero ***** about mine. I get it that errors happen, but this one could have been fatal. Tells me nobody is checking work done.
