Default I’m going to find out….

Just got a new road glide 24 haven’t taken delivery yet. It’s still getting some stuff done to it at the dealership.I like to use Sirius satellite radio, and the salesman at the dealership says that my iPhone will connect via Bluetooth and that the Sirius satellite display will come up on the infotainment screen.I hope he’s correct. I’m gonna go down there in a few days And test it out I don’t need Apple CarPlay. That’s like having frigging laptop on your motorcycle, but I would like to use satellite radio. My question is has anybody been able to do that with your newer model? Thanks in advanceMrbirdog

So you are going to stream Sirrus/XM via the app on your phone to the bike. Will be interesting to see how the new head unit controls that.

I'm not sure that I understand what you are trying to achieve.
Pretty sure that your new radio has an input for an XM antenna/receiver, which would allow for true SAT signal and the controls/display on the bike will work as expected.

Streaming SAT through the Sirius app on your phone (for instance) to the radio will work, but it is not relying on a true SAT signal & the radio will treat it just like any other BT (or USB-wired) source.

Without an XM receiver, you are relying on cellular data to stream Sirius/XM signal and it will cut out when/if you lose phone service.

I also recommend trying the Carplay function rather than dismissing it.

I just picked up a 2024 RG. You can, in fact, stream music and XM through BT. However, if you choose to use carplay (AA wont work at all) you need to have a head set paired with the system. As stated above, the XM you are streaming is through the cell network. As soon as you lose cell service, you will lose the XM, or any other app that uses cell service to function.

I was streaming XM through a crapple iphone and found out that it will indeed stop when you loose cell service. On the plus side, the FM antenna on these new bikes works much better than a whip or stubby on my old 2014 SGS in the mountains.

FWIW, For the non 2024 owners reading the 2024+ Touring Models forum.... There is no SiriusXM tuner available for the new head units. It's Bluetooth from the phone only.

Reducing cost by not having to pay license fees to Sirrius/XM corp.

I will report back my success or failure. I have been told by numerous people in person that it will in fact hook up via Bluetooth and display on the infotainment screen and you can see what channels that you’re listening to and increase and decrease volume, etc. I never lose cell service. I guess I need to get out of town a little more often.

Yes, with Carplay.. You get all the functionality of the SiriusXM phone app on your bike's screen. Including album art etc..
