I have new slip-ons arriving tomorrow, and Saturdays job is the installation. I will play around with them, but I have a lazy afternoon, and trying to decide if they should go slash up or slash down.

the older bags, I would go slash up. What say you?

Slash down.....that's what I did on my bike

 

Down, otherwise everyone is looking at your soot and internals. Besides, down accents the angle of the saddlebags so the difference is not noticeable. If slash up, the two different angles looks awkward.

I wouldn't do either but I'd place them so looking at the bike from the back I'd put them so the right side has the short side of the tip /endcap in the 3 o'clock position and the left side have the short side at the 9 o'clock position. Second choice slash down, like the other post said slash up and you can see the ugly part lol.

 

Mount one each way and see how you like them... then switch one.

 

Or leave it that way for a uber-custom look.

 

Steep slash, leather hard bags. Slash up looks good on this combo.
