My 1st new real car, a 1989 Mustang 5.0 LX had stainless duals out the back with slash in the direction that you keep the rain out of the pipe best I can explain it!
I loved that look as a 20 year old and I would only be able to install my Harley exhaust that same way.

I’ve always mounted slash up, as I think it better flows with the lines of the bags.

I thought the same too, until the new bags came out with that little undercut on the back end of the bag.
