isn’t this what insurance is for? Id rather pay a few bucks for theft insurance than a stupid security system. If you have good insurance with replacement value and your bike is stolen you will most likely come out pretty well, anyhow, especially if you have aftermarket add ons.

 

I ride ~20,000 miles a year venturing far from home throughout the year..I don't want to be with a group of friends on a vacation road trip and be the one heading out to the parking lot in the morning for the day's ride to not have a bike, I'd much rather spend one minute securing it and have it be there to continue on with our plans..but maybe that's just me

 

3k under msrp you should jump on that fast , that’s almost invoice . Crazy to think your gonna do better than that .

 

yeah but he's waiting for the Fall for the expected FED rate drop of a quarter of a basis point to get a loan .. which might be of some value on a 30 year million dollar mortgage loan...and I sure wouldn't not buy a bike now for several thousand $ under msrp because I was waiting on that mere pittance of a savings

 

I agree with GreenMonster. Your in California so I doubt bikes get much cheaper in the winter because you have no winter. Go get the bike and ride it.
Every 1% the interest drops the payoff drops around 1,000 dollars off the life of the loan. About 14 dollar a month.

 

Hahaha! Not sure you understand how interest rates work, but a single point less on a 60 month loan can save more than $750 over the life of the loan. That's more than a pittance! If you're financing a bike, it definitely pays to shop around for the best loan. Often local credit unions or banks can beat rates offered by Harley-Davidson Financial Services.

My favorite financing are the Zero Percent interest loans offered by the auto manufacturers as a subsidy to encourage customers to buy their cars. It's essentially free money; I've had several of them.

Sadly, Harley (ESB) doesn't offer that kind of savings. They do occasionally offer promotional interest rates, but only to those who have near-perfect credit scores.

This month, I'm headed to the dealership that offered me close to invoice price for a 2024 Road Glide. That's good enough for me!

 

yeah I have always saved up paid cash for vehicles…borrowing money to pay interest on long term loans for expensive rapidly depreciating assets of things I don’t ‘need’ is something that never made sense to me

 

So we have some dealer charging 3k over msrp and some 3k under msrp that’s a pretty big gap .

 

let's call it advertising, asking, fishing and just plain greed..if they have to rely on getting that they are going to have a lot of inventory collecting dust so I'm sure those dealers will be fine with unloading for msrp
