I took my battery out so I could manipulate the lead more freely and that allowed me to get it where I want it. It sticks out where the old bikes had theirs stick out (where the ignition coil used to be). Since I have mid-frame deflectors, they have a clip on the backside of them that the lead slots into. Easy to just reach there and pull lead out to connect, then when I'm done I just reach up there and slide it back into the clip.

I added a short extension to mine, and had it come out beside the rear seat hand holds.

Fine, but as a tender 1 Amp is enough. For a charger you should have more…

On each bike I own, I always do something like this:

(my '22 FLTRK has it on the front of the left side cover).

My SG came to me with the SAE connector lying on top of the trim at the left of the passenger seat. Short enough not to get pulled into the rear wheel, enough cable length to connect and disconnect it easily. I prefer it to my last EG that had the lead between the front edge of the left side cover and the frame.

Mine comes out the top rear corner of the side cover, slides behind the passenger grab strap, and lies behind the saddle bag right below the latch, one finger pulls it up, and I plug right in, My last to Harleys were set up the same way.

Yes it is.

On my 2024 the cable is rather short, it is sticking out from behind the front of the left side cover and hangs close to the primary. That's how it was when I bought it. No ill effects so far.

Battery tender goes on my vehicles if:
The bike is going to sit for more than 2 weeks.
The truck is going to sit for more than 1 month.

This is how mine was from factory and it worked well.

I removed the grab strap when installing the Saddlemen seat (consult your local laws before doing this). Then the lead would just flop around all over the easy-to-scratch black trim and the side of my bag lid.

That's when I moved it to the location I described.
