NEWROASTER's 2024 Road Glide CVO ST thread

Thanks for the compliments. I hear you on the suspension, it is not quiet as plush as a cruiser, but it stays very planted. I put another 120 miles on it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I just took the mufflers apart and removed the end piece to hopefully get a little deeper tone without loosing torque. I left the packing in place. If it does not work out, I can always put them back in. I was
I had also taken out the end pieces, but sound didn’t cut it for me (though was better). So I replaced exhaust obviously. I have always preferred 2 into 1 even have 2-1 on my ‘22 limited (full length though).

I agree, the exhaust is defiantly deeper and if it lost anything, I can't tell it from the seat. I will replace mine as well but will do it with a cam and possibly a big bore when the tuning is available. I am not much on Harley tunes.

Sunday I almost met my goal of 500 miles in three days, I ended up at 468. I wanted some good seat time to evaluate the bike and make small changes for comfort.
The one complaint everyone has with the new bikes is the windshield, I have had one ordered since last week. I need to install my radar detector and adjust the suspension a little more. I now like the handle bars, the are low and wide like a motocross bike, but to me it enhances the handling of the bike. My arms and hand never get tired. Two of my riding days, I went 120 miles or more with no stops.
I really have no other complaints. I think I will buy a new helmet. My GTAir2 is about 3 years old and the lining just does not seem as comfortable as it was. The new GTAir3 is available so I might get the upgrade.

My CVO ST
Once the suspension is dialed this bike rips. I changed out seat, bars and risers and windshield I don’t feel the need to mess with anything else yet. Pic of bike on the crest during a turn and burn from northern Nevada to LA and back 800+ miles in 24 hours. The seat made all the difference in the world. Thanks Corbin!

Not amazon, Hog Works on the bag liners, Amazon specials don't have any pockets. I was just going to pull the trigger for them on my Road king. Im glad I Waited now. I had two Amazon special bags in the Road king, they worked ok but did not look very good and made it hard to find stuff. These work better for me at least.
The license plate holder is Etsy. I could not see any difference between it and the Custom Dynamics, other than having to solder on the plug. I added some washers for rubber mounting and it works great. If the license plate light quits it's no big deal to me.

The CVO ST has shorter floor boards and an upright seating position that is almost like riding with mid controls. This riding style suits me just fine, but I wanted the shifter closer and the brake shorter to have a little better ergonomics while riding. I really wanted full mid controls, but they did not look like the would fit with the new cam cover, so I thought I would try Thrashing supply short shifter, adjustable shift rod, easy shift inner arm and the shorter brake pedal.
The parts arrived and I began installation last night. I forgot to take pictures of the install, but it is going smooth. I think the 1" shorter brake arm may be a problem, especially with the stock brake pad, so I am calling them today. The shifter side fits fine and I just need to finish adjustments on it. I will take pictures of it tonight.

I was also planning on waiting until Dynojet made the Power Vision available for the new ECM to do any performance upgrades. Dynojet has a research facility about two miles from the shop that does all my work, but I couldn't wait!
There is nothing wrong with this tune!
I realize, there is probably another 10% (maybe?) to gain with an aftermarket cam and tune but with 120 MPH @ 4800 RPM I'm okay and I still have my Warranty!
Also, the prevailing thoughts seem to be that it's okay to modify the exhaust without a tune on the new bikes.
