Default Axel lube?

Can white lithium grease be used on axels?
I'm reinstalling my front wheel and that's all I have at the moment?
If not, what do you recommend?
Tx!

Eh, it's the bearing that spin, not the axle. Grease is basically there to ease disassembly and assembly and prevent rust.
Not my choice of grease, but it should be just fine.

Wouldn't you just use anti seize?

You need to use a water resistant anti-seize grease. White lithium probably won't do the job as nearly as well.

Harley uses Loctite brand. Permetex has one. OMC boat propellers shaft anti seize is what I used because I had it. Soap and water won't even get that one off your hands it's so water proof.

OMC is long gone but it was a water proof product.

I put a very light coat of anti-seize on the axles to help prevent rust and seizing.

Ok......now I'm confused.
It's the bearings that spin, not the axel.
So why would anti seize be needed for the axel since it remains stationary?
Also......my bearing is good.
How do I lube/oil that since it's installed?

Front and rear axles I piut on anti seize, I am pretty sure it is in the manual. Slide it into bike. Makes threads are clean. Wipe brake clean if needed. It will make it easier to pull out. Anti seize is not really a lube, just helps you remove. I use it all kinds of stuff on bikes and truck. And anything else that I want to take apart someday. Nuts on metal sinks.

Use grease on any bearings! Anti seize is NOT a lubricant for cryin out loud.
