Why are you talking about bearings? Title is axle lube.

I'm reinstalling my front wheel and that's all I have at the moment?
If not, what do you recommend?

You don’t open a sealed or shielded bearing, so there’s no re-lubing required. Those bearings are lined for life. If you want fresh grease, replace the bearing.

Anti-seize goes on the axle, where the bearings and spacer sit on it. Anti-seize does exactly what it says: prevents seizing.

Grease is a lubricant, and does exactly that: it lubricates.

Grease or anti-seize coats the axle shaft, and prevents it from rusting.
Both will also lubricate the shaft, making it easier to push it in and pull it out.
White lith grease will work, but it's not a long lasting grease, dries quickly, and can be washed away surprisingly easily. That's why I said I wouldn't use it except as a last resort. It's better than nothing though.

Do not take the wheel bearings apart to grease them unless you really know what you're doing in there.

They are not talking about the bearings. It’s the axle rod/shaft that doesn’t rotate. Never seize…I put that **** on everything metal that I want to take odd someday. But, damn…no matter what input on my boat lug nuts, getting doused regularly in salt water…they take some work to get them off.

Grease or neverseize on any bike axle going together is a good move. I've fought a few seized up before, one the sawzall got busy just to get the wheel off.

A periodic maintenance procedure for my Yammy boat motor is to remove the prop and grease the prop shaft with marine grease to ensure it doesn’t seize.
