M1640: COOLING SYSTEM ENHANCEMENT FOR 2024 CENTER COOLED TOURING MODELS
Purpose for Service BulletinThis bulletin inform dealers that starting on April 30, 2024, all Center-Cooled touring vehicles will be assembled with new components, engineered to help improve a service bleed of the cooling system.
- Before March 12, 2024 all vehicles were built with the early system.
- From March 12, 2024 to April 30, 2024 vehicles were built with early and late system designs.
- After April 30, 2024 all vehicles were built with the late design.
Vehicles Affected
2024: Street Glide (FLHX), Road Glide (FLTRX), CVO Street Glide (FLHXSE), CVO Road Glide (FLTRXSE), CVO Road Glide ST (FLTRXSTSE)
Markets Affected
All markets affected.

Required Dealer Action
Early parts will continue to be supplied, continue to use early parts on early vehicles Table 2.
See Figure 1 and Figure 2. How to identify the changes in the parts:
- The radiator outlet fitting location was changed from low to high.
- The coolant pump bracket was changed to lower the overall pump position.
- The coolant hose that goes from the coolant pump to the rear head inlet has different geometry and has removed the union fitting from the center.
- These differences should help identify if an early system has been retrofitted to the new parts. Service parts normally, look up the part and replace with the same part.

The bigger change is that the hose leaves the radiator (pump inlet pipe) is about an inch higher and the pump is slightly lower, but that is well hidden behind the radiator shield.
The change to a one-piece pump discharge pipe doesn’t change the position of the pipe; it’s still in the same place.

good grief you paranoid peeps.. the purpose of this is "to help improve a service bleed of the cooling system" ... so that means to me every 30,000 miles it will make it a little easier for the techs to flush the cooling system..I could care less if it takes them 10 minutes longer for those service intervals, not my problem !!! not like it's to fix leaks or lack of ability to properly do its job cooling the engine
