Now, if they had made a relocation of the portion of radiator hose, which sits proud under the bike, that would be a major improvement.
Get your skid plates installed and you may avoid my experience of being stranded while waiting on replacement parts from the MOCO.

I’m not worried about it but I can see it being a potential problem down the road if something breaks or if some service tech doesn’t know about it. I generally don’t keep things more than about 5-6 years anyway.

Yes.. does nothing to enhance the ability to keep the engine cool. It's just a means of making service easier. Without the mod, it's something for a mechanic at my Harley dealership to worry about when doing the cooling system service.

Would this apply to the 2023 mid year CVOs as well? Weird that it didn't mention them or maybe I missed it.

are the 23 CVOs center cooled? I thought that was just started in 24.

The 23.5 CVO SG/RGs were HD’s way of show casing what was to come in ‘24.

Yes, the 23.5 CVO's are "Center-Cooled"
