I installed the Thrashin Supply skid plate today and made an installation video. I started a YouTube channel. Subscribe if you’d like. I’ll just start recording install and maintenance videos, not anything else.

 

Installed mine today too. Three bolts. Easy peasy

 

Black anodized skid plate just dropped. $40 more than raw.

After installing the raw version I am good with it. Can't really tell it's there unless you are looking for it.

 

same with mine. I don’t even notice it

 

I sandblasted mine and painted it with some flat black engine paint. Blends with the black frame a little better.

Check to make sure the plate does not contact or put pressure on any component. I had to tweak mine a little on the left side to get it off of the bottom of the radiator.

Thanks, man! I appreciate. That’s just the way I think. Every step, every detail, BUT be as concise as possible.

In my job I write, well, mostly supervise the writing of maintenance procedures, so it’s a part of my background.

I enjoy making the videos, but I enjoy walking through the process even more. Things I’ve already installed, I’m removing and and reinstalling so I can make more videos. Maybe a company will sponsor me at some point and I can install some more things without oissing the wife off that I’m spending too much LOL

 

I got my skid plate... sanded with 120 grit sandpaper in a manual random manor. Cleaned and cleaned again for a final time with alcohol. I then sprayed with "truck bed spray liner". About three coats. I am sure it will not be near as good as "real bed liner". Looking from up top will look OK!. Time will tell, hope to install tomorrow
