A Harley dealership will have you replace the TSSM. Any private shop that has TR Centurion Pro can go directly in to the TSSM and recover the existing. You also need it to program in the new FOB's. There are actually several tools out there to program the FOB's. Your OBD reader isn't going to work.

Also worth a try to see if you're lucky and use the default PIN in the off chance that the original owner never changed it. Usually its 11111 as the default or the last 5 digits of the VIN. I don't think it'll permanently lock you out but there's a cool off period after so many failed attempts. Worth trying 0000, 12345, 54321 in the meantime.

There is no "default" PIN.
The bikes ship from the factory with the security system not completely set up.
Each dealer then activates the system and sets the PIN during the bike setup when they get it.

Also note: Zero is not an options for any of the number. 1 through 9 are the only numbers available.

Very slim chance that the PIN is the last 5 of the VIN either.
Every dealer I've seen sets up the security system with the same PIN during their initial setup, and advises the purchaser to change that PIN.
Several dealers I've seen use: 31313

I will try every pin code and see what it does, somebody suggested replacing the ecm with thundermax ecu, would that be an option?

00001 and 00002 and 00003.

Be sure you have it hooked to a maintenance charger.

Be interesting to know if like a bank password, after 3 trys, kills it or makes you wait 24 hours.

You really don't need a FOB.

Zero's are not allowed in programming a pin, and unless the security has been disabled you do indeed need a FOB, unless you don't mind dicking around entering the PIN every time you want to start the bike. Having it hooked up to a maintainer has nothing to do with it.

You DO need a FOB.

These bikes have security ECMs installed on them, meaning the bike does not activate unless pin or FOB are present, but it also means if you jiggle the bike too much without a fob nearby, the bike does a light show, and sends a signal to the Siren alarm. It means "dont ****ing touch me" and refuses to allow a pin entry.
If you try to move the bike without the fob, too much, it will refuse to allow pin inputs for several minutes. You have to put the bike in transport mode, or it will freak out on a trailer the entire way without the FOB nearby.

I have ran out to my bike many many times only to "oh **** forgot my FOB" and try to just put the pin in, **** it up, and watch the bike get upset that I sat on it and refuse pin codes until I go get the ****ing fob and toggle the bike's ingition.
It's actually kinda ****in irritating.

You do really need a FOB.

Good news guys, i just found out that my scan tool has a charger plug on the obd connector, and when you power it and plug the scanner to the bike it will scan it. So i was able to retrieve the pin code and program a new fob!!! 😁 worth the money for this scan tool it is the obdstar iscan for hd.

The dealer told me the default PIN is 11111 from the factory. He asked if I wanted to change it so I did. This is on a 2023 FXLRS.

For those that say you need a FOB to enter the pin and start the bike, I can say I've literally walked out to my bike with no FOB, entered my code and started my bike. What sense would it make if you had to have the FOB to enter your pin?
