No ABS on 2022 FXLRS
I found out that my 2022 FXLRS doesn’t have ABS. Had I known this before I bought it, I wouldn’t have purchased it. I can’t believe that Harley made this an option in ‘22. My feeling is that it is an essential safety feature that needs to be included, not an $800 option.
So my question is: can I add this to my existing platform. I know it’s cost prohibitive if you go with brand new components, but it might be possible and not cost prohibitive with used parts. Has anyone tried this?

I’ve learned to never doubt what people are capable of doing, but this would be quite a project. Not only would you need to source all the components (ABS module, brake lines, bearings, speed sensors, etc., but there are all the miscellaneous parts and pieces, also. It looks like there are four ABS harnesses that aren’t part of non-ABS bikes. Have you located sources for used parts?
I hope you take it on and document the project in a thread. Good luck!

ABS is standard on almost all the H-D bikes now, but even in the current model year there are at least a couple where it's an extra-cost option, like the Softail Standard and Street Bob.
This 2022 LR-S ABS thing is bizarre. How can an "S" model not have it as standard? I found a detailed spec sheet that definitely says ABS was standard on the 2022, but then I found a different section of the same site that says it was optional! Found reviews out there that say it came standard. Cycle World's buyer's guide shows it as standard. But in searching, I found a post here on the forums in an earlier thread that I made, which said that ABS was an $819 option on the 2022.
About adding ABS, I found this thread from 2021 where someone was talking about adding it to an FXBB. He said he had a donor bike coming and was going to experiment, so maybe it'd be worth dropping him a PM to see if he had any success?

I managed to acquire the EHCU (controller), wiring harness, all the brake lines (front lower has manifold), and the wheel speed sensor for the rear wheel. I need the front wheel speed sensor, and I’m sure many miscellaneous small parts, but it looks like I might get this done for around $600. I’m not sure what it’s going to take to make it work. I’ll feel better having the ABS on the bike. I just never imagined that a 2022 wouldn’t have it.

I would MUCH Prefer my 2023 Street Glide Did not have ABS, The idea I must have a dealer flush every 2 years is NOT something I want to do! I know I have options but its beyond what I am comfortable doing and I do not want to be tied to my dealer every 2 years!
I know the value of ABS but I have had ABS in every car I have owned starting in 1995, I have only had my ABS activate one time and that was in 1995 when I hit rocks at high speed. I would prefer to take my chances and know I did not need a flush every 2 years!
