Default '21 Low Rider S Handlebar

Hi everyone;
Im currently looking for a replacement of the stock handlebar ('21 FXLRS), as I realize it is a bit stretch for my reach and hurt my wrists after long rides.
I am leaning toward 12" Tyson XL kickback by Biltwell.
But I also doesnt want to sacrifice agility.
Some people say the higher the wrists the less agile we will feel.
If this is true, perhaps I just buy Kraus TRex pullback plate ?
Can anyone share some experience here ?

You could just go with 5.5 drag specialties 1” pull back risers and and adjust the stock bar for comfort. You will keep agility and anything more than 1” pull back looks weird anyways. With the 5.5 pull backs you keep stock wire and cable. Easy install.

I run 5.5 drag specialties with 1” La choppers riser extension’s. The hole in my counsel is were my power vision mounts, I have it out as I am headed to the dyno today.

thanks you. Does this means a 6.5" riser with 1" pullback afterward?

it will but it’s max. You will have to reroute your clutch cable. Turn the brake line down. Pull some slack out of your control’s. There are many threads on this mode. The 5.5 risers with the 1” extension puts it at more like 6.25. And recesses nice into the triple tree. Less stress on the wires than if you go with full 6.5 risers.I have wire extension’s on my set up to accommodate the fairing bracket. I had no problems running it with the stock wire length before the fairing. I did have to buy 1” longer grade 8 bolts to run the riser extension’s and you will need shorter bolts for bar clamp to accommodate the drag risers.

The La choppers riser extension’s are 1.25’s. This is a very easy and inexpensive fix for the reach on thease bikes as the steep rake is nice for handling but causes the rider to reach for the bar. Great for maneuvering also.

Most likely your wrists hurt from leaning forward on them. I also don't think you will notice any loss in agility or handling with those bars. 12" is the total rise including the bars so it's really like 6-7" risers with mid bend bars. The Kraus plate may bring the bars closer to you but most likely still to low. Those Tyson XLs don't appear to have much pullback though. Here is a video found when looking to swap my WIDE Fat Bob bars with a narrower option. I went with Trask Bars.

Both the Low Rider and Low Rider ST have bars that are WAY to low and I'm a short dude (5'8"). I installed Thrashin 6.5 risers using the stock bars and still not high enough or back enough. I will be doing 8" risers at first service.
I will say going from low wide 35" inch stock bars on the Fat Bob to taller 6" and narrower 30", change the bikes handling and comfort for the better. I really like the look of the Trask Bars and may install those when I go 8" on the Low Rider ST.

Here is me 5'8" with Thrashin 6.5 risers and stock bars. I'm still not high enough and leaning forward just a bit. My bars need to be 2" taller and at least 1.5" back towards me.

Every time I see you guys with the S bikes, I'm tempted to do a gauge swap from the digital gauge on the ST.
