107 oil usage

No clue where it was going. Plugs looked good too.

[QUOTE=wztravis;21345188]Hi everyone,
I have a 2019 heritage 107. I bought it this year with only 3k on it and it runs great. It seems to use a lot of oil. In the last 5000 miles its used about 2 quarts. Ive seen the bulletin that says 1qt per 1500 miles is normal. Thats ridiculous. This is my first harley after 25 years of trouble free Japanese bikes. I'm second guessing my decision to switch to HD. I was hoping that after spending so much money, this bike would last me many years, hopefully decades.
I have a 2018 Heritage with a 107 with 60,000 miles on her now.
I have to add slightly less than a quart total between oil changes.
I am ok with that.
It’s my first Harley as well after 25 years on metrics.

That's what I thought! Seems pretty ridiculous. I've never had any vehicle regardless of miles use that much oil. And I've had some worn out 300+K mile cars. It's disheartening for sure.

Personally I think you're over thinking it. Get a horoscope and check the cylinders. If they're fine then it's guides. If they're not maybe time for a big bore. Just don't sweat it, it's only oil. Such is life with an oil cooled engine. They just see more heat than a water cooled bike sees, so things are less predictable.

I totally get that. On long highway blasts on my Roadglide (103 TC) that would happen. I added a catch can and haven't had an issue since. Mostly the oil spray is vented and makes a mess of the right side of the bike.
