I also have just made the move to a softail, a 2016 Heritage Classic. I'll be turning 82 this summer and decided that, before I started having problems handling my 2015 Ultra Limited and possibly hurting myself, I should downsize and continue riding as long as I can. This is my 7 th harley and I'm really looking forward to many miles on the heritage.

How was the install ? probably have a local suspension shop squeeze the setup and swap the piece on, local HD dealer doesnt have a compressor for the springs

Congrats. I was on a Road Glide for 12 years, then went to a big Beemer for 1.5 years, now on the Street Bob. I love it. I came to the reality I don't need a touring bike anymore. I got some Biltwell ExFil 36 throw over bags for the Street Bob and can carry enough stuff for a 4-5 day camping trip. I'm golden now.

I made the switch from a '21 Road Glide to this Low Rider S. Loved the RGS, but honestly, switching to my current bike and modifying how I wanted was the best automotive decision I've ever made. I can still comfortably put in 3-5hr days of riding on crushing highway miles, but every bit of twisty goodness is 20x more fun on these lighter bikes. I also really enjoy the more "raw" experience of riding without the fairing, speakers, GPS, etc...
Saddlemen step up moves you up and forward.
C&C moves you down and back, and is shaped for humans to sit on, unlike the step up seats with their 90* angles for Minecraft characters....
