Looks like a Mother Road Customs seat ? Like the look of the leather ears on the sides ! Funny you should mention the 5" springs . My seat and hardware came with two blued 3" coil springs . I kept sliding off the back of the seat going up hills here in Western PA and thought the leather seat was to slippery, not so . I am 265 Lbs and had to order 4" coil springs and no more sliding off the back end . Went with the chrome this time . I waited until Mother Road had a 10% off sale several weeks ago and made the purchase . I have to be honest that I almost bought the Harley tractor seat because it was almost $80.00 cheaper , but with the discount was the same price . My opinion only concerning the Harley seat and hardware . I had the chance to see and handle the Harley seat for my model and there is no comparison in quality . The hardware for the Harley brand reminded me of cheap Taiwanese pot metal . I spoke to one of the fabricators at Mothers Road and he told me that everything is American made with the kit I purchased , that means a lot to me . Also wanted to ask , did you use a washer under the coil springs where they contact the base pan ? I did not and only used a washer on the inside of the coil springs . I did use washers between the coil spring and the bottom of the leather seat . Also the fabricator stated that they glue the leather to the steel pan on the underside . Apparently they do not use plastic for the seat pan as do some companies .

I'm working on adding a pogo-style seat to my 05 springer. Trying to find that "just right" seat for my ride! Hope mine looks as good as yours when finished.

 

Definitely need a Springer seat to go with that model bike , it should complete the look . Give Mother Road Customs a call . They have in house fabricators . That is all they do make saddles and hardware . I am sure Harley would still have a springer / tractor seat for your model .

 

I officially hate you now.

That seat looks great! What was the total cost and how comfortable is it?

 

Item # 1068, 2018-2022 HD Spring Seat Conversion and mounting kit , 15x14 $619.00 plus $20.00 shipping . They ran a 10% off deal several weeks ago all in cost me $575.00 .
Which made it about the same price as the Harley brand springer seat . I am sure the HD seat is fine but I think the Mother Roads is better quality . You can also get the Mothers Road seat in foam or gel, I went with the foam seat . If your weight is up there say 250 lbs or more the 3" coil springs they send you will not work and like me you will be sliding off the back of the seat . I had them send me the 4" springs and problem solved . Very comfortable seat , with the springer seat and the Softails new mono shock under the seat I just float over the bumps now . Would I ride to Sturgis from PA on this seat , no ! I would install my Mustang Wide Day Tripper seat . A few weeks ago I rode a 200 mile trip and no back or behind pain . This is my first Springer / Tractor seat and I am a fan of theses seats now and they really go with the look of any of the new M8 Softails .
