Tour Pack for 2021 Heritage Question

This doesn't answer your specific question, just throwing this out there as an option. Like you, I didn't want to pay the HD price for a tour pack that rarely gets used, so I bought one from Viking instead. It's actually decent quality, and works well for my wifes needs

On my Sport Glide, I bought a n Oxford 40 litre ,if I remember for $85. Decent quality and now I just leave it on all the time as it's flat black and doesn't look bad with the satin bags. Bought it at Iron Pony in Columbus, Ohio, an old Ames store converted to an everything motorcycle discounter. $85 sure beats $400 and it has held up for over a year. I think Amazon has it also.

I'll take a peek at the Oxford, thanks for the info. I already have the Viking. I used it for the second time this past week. The lock malfunctioned while we were out. While the key turned, the clasp remained locked, so we couldn't get to any of our belongings that were in it. The bag is less than a year old, and was only used for 2 days total. I'm glad that there is a 1 year warranty on the bag, but not happy that the coverage means I had to drill out the lock and remove the mechanism (not a particularly easy feat), and they will send me a new lock. I see the older Harley leather bags don't have keyed locks. I might prefer that rather than trusting the Viking keyed mechanism again.
