Forwards completely changed this bike for me. I had a 2021 Sport Glide prior to this one and I was used to a more relaxed riding position with forward controls. I tried it for about 600 miles with the mids it came with then decided I needed the forwards. I added some floorboards and forward controls and it completely transformed the comfort level for me. The forwards, if I remember correctly only move the controls 7" forward. I supposed if you are young and limber the mids would work much better than they did for me, I'm mid 50's with a total knee replacement done in 2021 and another one due sometime in the future...

Let's face it...if you're 6ft tall or more, or if you just have long legs, the stock ergos on this bike (the S or the ST, it doesn't matter) are horrific. The bare minimum for me to make this bike ridable is a tall boy type seat, taller rear shock, mini floor boards (not fwd controls), taller risers, and probably a different handlebar. That's probably $2K before I even touch the engine or front suspension.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a used S, but knowing just how much I will end up sinking into this depreciating asset has had me delaying my decision for over a year now. By the time I end up getting the bike up to my standards, money wise I could have bought a nice Ducati Multistrada V4S or another KTM Adventure bike. I'm really sick and tired of buying a Harley, and having to dump a shitload of cash into it just to make it rideable and decent. It gets old.

I am 6’ tall 190 pounds. With The right seat-risers- mini floor boards and highway pegs. I am just as comfortable on my fxlrs with mids as I was on my 92 fxr super glide mids. Every thing I listed was around a grand. The only problem I had with this bike or any m8 is the sound. They need aftermarket stage 2.

Best thing you'll do. These are Dominion series, they're really long and let you put your feet back if you want, too. Heck I can even stand up like mids if I like, or stretch right out.

This st was at the shop when I had my bike dyno tuned. Heritage rubber floor boards I believe. No bad vibes with the rubber.

They're actually 105th anniversary Fatboy ones- Heritage ones are half moons.

I did consider this, but to be honest the stock 117 is so much better than the 114 with vibes the solid mounted Dominion floorboards don't vibrate at all. Plus they look way cool on the ST!

I think vibration problems has alot to do with crank run out. You have no vibration. The 117 in the video had a lot of vibration. The 114 you had had vibration. My 114 has no vibration problems, my crank run out was .003.

a seat - a cam - the right (not too tall) bars. Perfect guide.

Cool video, everything we have been talking about since this bikes inception. I'm getting ready to order a cam for mine, I've got the bearing tool and am ready to do this over the Winter.. it's time to wake it up!

I ordered a Star 30/30 cam, PV tuner and S&S Superstreet black 2 in 1 exhaust. I'll probably install sometime in January or February. I was going to go with the Sawicki mid length but I got a good deal on the S&S - about $700 less so I thought I'd give it a try. Can't wait to add a little performance and sound to this thing...
