I have a garage full of parts waiting to install (mini floor boards, thrashin 6.5 risers, HD 10” windscreen, led turn signals, Saddleman SDC pro, etc)

I just wondering if I bought on the hype . Maybe I need to get it fitted to me, but first ride I was not blow away. Anyone else underwhelmed at first??
I was unhappy with the riding position as well but I had watched a lot of videos so I knew I would have to make some changes. If I had to leave it stock I would not keep it.

If I could do it over again I would go with the Thrashin 9.5" risers and their mid bend bars and bite the bullet and do the cable and wire extensions, and forward controls. But that is a pretty hefty amount to spend on a brand new bike to make it comfortable. Still, I was riding it today and had a big smile. I have the 10" HD screen but ordered the Klock Werks 6" dark smoke flare windshield to try that out and see if I like it. It's 25% off right now so I was willing to check it out.

Get your hips level with your knees then bring the bars to you. It’s that easy.Try that before you sacrifice handling with forward controls.

.
Sorry to hear that. The only stock softail I'm comfortable on is the Fat Bob.

Has anyone put (or thought about putting) M8 Fat Boy or Heritage floor boards on one?

If I end up with a ST it would be a replacement for my Road King and nothing beats floorboards for long rides IMO. W/o that option I don’t think I would go for one. On my test ride my knees felt like they were in my chest. And I don’t have very long legs. My itty bitty FXR2 has better peg position for me for some reason…

Sandy (Holy Shift) did it on his, looks like it took a bit of work putting the part together. After he did the forward controls.

The ridding position is pretty much the same as the 2020 FXLRS you had no?

I looked at those DK Floorboards before I went with the CIRO footrests and thought they looked like a great option, until I saw this...Does Not Fit the 2022 FXLRST.

Exactly the same, yes. However the ST, if I got one, would be a replacement for my ‘21 Road King, for “touring” purposes. When I had my ‘20 S I also had a Road King and wouldn’t have even considered hopping on the S for a multi-day ride. That’s why I am hesitant. I expect the more forward position of the floorboards would be a game changer, at the expense of course of some lean angle…

the last time I looked at those was before the st came out. If they don’t work on an st they won’t work with an s model. I called them and they are looking into it. I think I know my answer. Excellent customer service at dk. The Ciro footrests looks like a good option.
