I’m learning a lot, and I’m going to do some modifications based upon what I’ve read here.

I think I will add forward controls, some mini floor boards, and certainly different exhausts. Maybe new handlebars?

Any advice as which forward controls and floorboards? Which exhaust? Should I stick with OEM Harley parts?
You know that moving forward your pegs will screw your handling don't you...

You should just change the seat for better positioning. Putting forwards on this bike negates everything about how it was designed and what it's supposed to be.

I do have forwards on my LRST, and find that the ride is much more comfortable.

For me, I find that mid controls are just not really good for long distance.

Adding forward controls to an LRST is MUCH cheaper and less involved than adding a frame-mounted fairing to a Sport Glide. You can trust me on that.

Why would you even suggest a completely different bike just because someone wants different controls? . Folks change controls all the time. I didn't consider getting a different bike when I added floorboards to my Sport Glide...I just did it.

that's assuming he already has one...
and you can and did. congrats! we're here talking about stuff...what you do on a forum.

my point is, a performance oriented bike like this with new, lean angle focused geometry, just seems like you're going backwards.
as many people have already mentioned, floor boards and crash bar will solve the leg stretch issue.

I'm not sure you would sacrifice much if any lean angle going to forwards or even floorboards. The longer rear shock is where the extra lean angle comes from. And depending on your inseam, forwards may be just fine for aggressive riding (ergonomically).

highway pegs bolt up like forward controls. At a higher height of course.
The New lean angle focused geometry? Fancy words for 56 mm heritage shock. I have the st rear shock(56 mm heritage shock) on my bike. The st does have the better static rate spring’s in the forks to help with the extra 70 pounds, I get it. As far as forward controls at 6 ft I am very comfortable with the mids thanks to the tall boy seat and 6.5 pull back risers. I have highway pegs that mount up like forward controls and no problem talking a corner hot when on them but my bike feels and responds so much better when riding the mids. But the dk custom highway pegs are a gift from god!! 😂 Love them .
