Next time it needs a front tire I'm thinking about getting the wheel chromed. It would look so much better.
I am positive that could be an option. In fact, I started to look into that, but I could not locate a place that would do that work. I figured those shops that seem to do great magic on scuffed vehicle wheels would be the easy choice - but no. No one would touch re-chroming a motorcycle wheel. Then I ended up buying used and wife kept her 21 Heritage (long story) so I gave up.
You might have better luck but I would certainly do the research first before making a purchase.
I was told by a dealer a few years ago when the "wagon wheels" came out, it was because of a spoke supply chain shortage. I have to believe that since various things in business were affected and Harley added a surcharge for the spokes that year.
Personally I am disappointed they didn't continue that trend and offer those stock cast wheels in chrome as a "throwback" to older Heritage, Deluxe & CVO bikes. Who wouldn't like this?
Those look good on that bike but on an all blacked out bike like mine not so much and I do like chrome.
