No Nightrain or Dyna?.....oooh That lowrider S will do!!
I sold my nightrain 5 years ago and kept my 1980's iconic V-max.
Now 5 years on i wanted a new nightrain but was disappointed when i found out it was discontinued and i couldn't find a decent 2nd hand one. Then i thought maybe the Dyna would be close then found out it was discontinued. After finishing the conversation with the salesman i was left disappointed and depressed.
I couldn't see anything i really wanted although i was 50/50 on a fat boy but am i the only one who thinks those wheels are pig ugly....Maybe I am..?
Then there it was a Low rider s and i thought not all is lost.
i needed to test ride it and needed to test ride another bike to compare, the closest they had as a test bike was the 2021 street bob.
I took the street bob out first, jeeeez it was punchy almost too punchy but the ride for some reason didn't put a smile on my face, when i got back the salesman said what's it like being back on an HD again, he was expecting me to jump for joy but i said yeah OK, not too bad....His heart sank quickly he was expecting my cash to be half hanging out of my pocket
Try the low rider S he said.
Well, in short, there was no comparison, i know it is more expensive but the ride was totally different, i have read a few times of guys saying the opposite well with much better forks and seat i hugely beg to differ..
It didn't seem quite as punchy but by far enough for me.
So do i now wait for 2022 , the salesman was keen to let me know they have only 2 left and are getting no more in so i can take or wait but regardless one will be had and hell we are coming into winter now anyway.
Now i am thinking that stage 1 is obviously straight off the bat, i like the rather pointy aftermarket air intake but can't seem to find it online but i am sure the dealer will find it.
This will be my first 'new' HD so i have a few enquiries and one is if the stage 1 gets done before i pick it up should they give you the standard pipes and filter etc or will they offer a reduction on stage one and keep the stock bits?
I can't decide whether to get forward controls, i am 6ft 1in tall and considering there is not one to test ride with them i am wondering on the owners views?
And finally, i did not like the mini-ape bars on the streetbob but i am not sure i like the stock either (the only thing i didn't like) so wondering what a nice in-between would look like maybe a T-bar....Your thoughts?
If anyone could i would love to see your customed Low riders so i can get an idea i really would be grateful
Thanks Guys....

Stock mid controls, the tall boy seat pushes you back to lower knee height with the mid controls. Stock handle bar with 5.5 drag pull back risers I then added LA choppers 1 inch riser extension’s. 6.5 is max as far as stock wire and cables when changing risers.Research before if and when you add risers. Bassani road rage 2 into 1 pipe.
