Default Best 18+ Heritage Seat?

Looking for some seat info on the M8 Heritage. I know there's a lot of threads about seats but, most just say it's comfortable or that they like or dislike. I'm looking at a few and really curious how they sit you up/down and forward/back. I'd like to buy only the front and use the OEM rear.

Sundowner Solo - Looks like it may raise you up and forward. Up would be ok but don't really want to go forward.
Ultimate - Probably the best but it looks like the ***** that hold the seat on eventually rub a hole in the vinyl. One in the classifieds now like that.
Saddlemen Step Up- I know it's a 2-Up but man it looks cool
Mustang - The ole faithful.

If you are running any of these please comment and let me know what you think as far as quality and where they put you as it relates to the stocker? I would appreciate any info I can get. Thanks all and ride safe!

Possibly, but never happened on mine. The Ultimate guy told me the stock passenger seat on the M8 Heritage would not fit with the Ultimate driver seat though. I think there was also an issue with a sissy bar relocation deal.

As far as I'm concerned, there's only ONE seat for the Heritage. That's the old style "deluxe solo seat" #52006-47B, mounted to the spring seat kit. Simply the most comfortable seat I've ever ridden on a motorcycle.

Yes, the OEM passenger seat will fit with it.

I always used to use a spring solo seat on touring bikes. The police seat was great because the newer ones had a coil over shock instead of the air bag. I don't like the detached feeling of an undamped spring seat.

I find that the new Heritage Softail has good enough suspension that I can ride with a solid mounted seat. I like the Mustang touring saddle.

I'm with you and glad to hear it hasn't happen on yours. I read on the Ultimate site that the OEM passenger seat will work but it covers up the backrest slot.

I put the Sundowner solo on my Heritage. Had one previously on a Sporster. The seat is so comfortable that it is like sitting in a lazy boy recliner. My seat did not move me forward but higher up maybe an inch.

Hmm, obviously you don’t ride the roads in Northeast PA. There I quickly found the limits of the rear suspension.

I should have mentioned that I replaced my rear shock with one with longer travel and adjustable damping (from FOX).
