Default H-D Accessory Mid-Controls for Fat Bob and Sport Glide

Interesting...and expensive. They're also now selling the OE mids as a kit; less expensive, but you need to change exhaust and inner/outer primary covers.

Cool option I guess. Probably more so for a Sport Glide than Fat Bob so you're in a more neutral position for touring.

Why would they sell half a kit? Almost 1000 to do mid controls. They probably did that intentionally so customers wont notice. HD thinks their customers must be morons.

That's great! I'd get the mid controls and mount some floorboards on a Sportglide for sure.
But darn that's expensive... basically $1000 for both sides.

These mid control options have been available after market for most bikes for a couple years now. However, they are MORE EXPENSIVE than Harley-Davidson's new product. You are looking at $1500+ for aftermarket accessory mids.

There is absolutely no reason that they couldn’t sell both kits as one for $500 bucks . It’s just Harley being greedy like usual .

I’d actually prefer the opposite where they break up the kit even more into individual pieces (which probably could be done), as no one wants HD’s POS shift linkage.

Surdyke has the 50502040 for $458.29 and the 50502041 for $333.29.

Also, according to Ryan Kruisi it's about 1/4" farther back and about 2" higher compared to the current mid-controls. See comment section.

Leaning on replacing my mids with these. Two inches higher is quite bit.

Default Rear brake

Put the mid controls on my Sport glide. The rear brake lever is half the length of stock, so now with less leverage rear brake is terrible!!

Recently I installed the mid controls from a low rider on my Sportglide. Along with that I turned out the clevis at the master cylinder 3 full turns and installed the DLX adjustable brake bone. With that I have good leverage and the feel is the same as the forward controls. Still not completely satisfied with the rear brake stopping power I installed a 4 piston Brembo radial caliper with a Kraus radial mount caliper bracket. Just ordered to length SS braised lines in black from Spiegler to complete the install. I expect a significant improvement, we'll see. If you notice I change the Harley Mantis wheels to Performance Machine wheels.
