I was at my local dealer a few weeks ago and they had one on the floor, $14990.00 IIRC

Heat reduction from the extra disc will help reduce any brake fade, but not sure anyone has complained about experiencing that? I haven't, with some spirited riding on twisty roads. Two discs will require more effort to change direction, you've increased the weight of the wheel and the gyroscopic effect from that extra mass of the second rotating disc is greater. Whether it has any noticeable effect in the real world, dunno. But won't improve agility.
e.g. I've never tried carbon fibre wheels, but their purpose is to reduce unsprung weight to improve the speed of steering response and front suspension performance.

Don't know what to tell you dude, but three corners in and my front brake is toast and I need to really wipe off the speed or end up in the armco. If twin discs weren't all that big a deal, then every sports bike manufacturer ever would just go with a bigger single to save weight as you said. Better, repeatable braking force means a quicker bike through the twisties. (where it counts)
Or it's just horseshit either way WRGAF.

i just finished breaking in my 114 streetbob, they haul a**!! It really does need a wider tire on the back end. My back tire breaks loose when I go wide open in second gear. I’m only a 165lb guy to so not much weight to move around on that bike.
