Fix For New HD 1/4 Fairing on a Lowrider S
Hey All,
I really love the look of the new 1/4 fairing, but have read about how the wind pushes on the top windshield area and pulls the bottom prongs out while riding. I know that Dirty Dixie came out with some e-clips that help to retain the prong in the rubber bushing, but that till allow for the rubber bushing to flex and puts pressure on the prong which may lead it to future failure. I created a fix that will keep the fairing in place and not stress out the prongs. Go to Lowes and pick up a 3" brass barrel bolt. You will use the hoop part of it. Also, get some JB weld 6 min epoxy, and some black zip ties. The pics are self-explanatory. This will also make it more difficult for someone to pull off the fairing and steal it. Danny G.
Epoxy into place.
Secure with zip ties.
