Default S&S Super Street Baffle

I have the standard Db insert in my Super Street "Race" Muffler. I wanted to try some different ideas to change the sound and maybe performance.
I'm not sure this exhaust will support 150 HP with the 1.75" Db reducer (future mods) so first up to try is this 2" baffle from S&S touring mufflers.
It didn't change the sound much at all and bottom end seems about the same after a short ride, I'll be out riding more tomorrow.
I just ordered a 2.25" pipe and will have to make a flange to mount it to copy exactly the stock Db reducer, just larger. The muffler ID is 2.5" so a 2.25"
is the largest I can fit.

I'm running 1-7/8 louvered baffles similar to yours. I can't comment on the suitability for making big HP, but I can on the sound. I wasn't loving the sound until I wrapped them good. Now the harsh metallic crack is gone and the deep low rumble sounds good. I can hear the exhaust note but without the fatigue and headache.
I'm running these in the stock slipons with S&S475c. The sound and performance is very satisfying to me.

You're running it in a S&S Surer Street?

Sorry if it seems off topic, but my comments are in support for louvered baffles. Wrapping them makes the sound really good.

First ride around the block last night without a helmet was hard to judge exhaust volume difference.

Longer ride today with my usual helmet and I can tell right away it is louder and really wakes the power up in the mid to redline range. I can feel the power coming on at 2,400 RPM cruising in third gear and there is enough torque with the 114" to not really notice a bottom end loss of power.

I always thought the Super Street left some power behind running through the Db insert. The louvered baffle is about 30% more area to breathe, minus the louvers sticking out in the tube. Bike mid range to top feels like the Bassani Road Rage I has minus a bit of the exhaust volume.

I picked up a 2.25" tube today and ordered several 3.5"round x .062" steel discs to make a flange with. The flange on the louvered baffle is 3" OD so not enough material to drill a hole, had to use my cut-off wheel to make three moon cut-outs. I might re-make it with a proper sized flange. I'm not going to do anything with the 2.25" tube yet since the louverd baffle works so well with the 114". I can save the larger baffle for a future 128"+ build.

This is a cheap, easy mod for you Super Street owners, highly recommended.

Default 2 Inch dB Reducer

Mock-up of 2" Super Street dB reducer compared to the stock 1.75".
I haven't decided about final length but was thinking to have the rear stick out 1.5" compared to the stock 1/2". I don't have a welder, need this welded on both sides of the flange.
So, will install and try it out eventually.

I made this ones earlier for the S&S slipons for my FXFBS, the slipons were EU approved and now I made them according the US standards, it is made in stainless steel now. I keep follow your progress.
