Hdbkstl: Couldn't agree more. Once again H-D rolls out the tired old "new paint scheme" as a special edition. If the FXDR was a failure (which I believe it was based on social media reports) then this was primarily to do with it not being differentiated from the rest of the softail line other than by its styling (maybe some wierd ergonomics and lack of real ability for pillion and luggage didn't help too much either).
If Harley want to produce a performance model softtail (which I believe a large enough number of buyers would be interested in - and seriously consider buying), then make a bike that includes leading engine, chassis (it does have an alloy swingarm), suspension and brake components. If H-D want to be a premium brand then make a bike that 'is' a premium bike.
