I use the auxiliary lamps to help people see me in the daytime, not to light up the road. So, I put in these Xprite bright amber bulbs that are clear when off. I also had the dealer program the auxiliary lamps to stay on with the high-beam headlamp. I use the high-beam during the day on two lane highways. The turn signal/running lights have H-D clear lenses with H-D LED inserts.

Harley heated grips really put out some heat. I like the stock black rubber grips so that's the style I bought.

You will need an electrical connection kit p/n 69201599A to connect them.

The wiring was long enough for the 12" mini-apes with 4" risers.

No more bulky gloves. I use these on all but the coldest days: Aerostich Deerskin Gloves

I got tired of my gas cap rattle and installed the H-D flush mount fuel caps. No more rattle.

These are nice grips, I like the stock grips too, just dread running more wires inside the bars. I do use a Gerbing heated jacket liner and gloves, their gloves are not as bulky as my Held winter gloves.

The rear of the bike needs more light to be safe in my opinion. LEDs illuminate significantly quicker and brighter than incandescent bulbs. I added:

H-D red LED inserts to the turn signals.
H-D Red lenses to the turn signals.
H-D red LED Layback Tail Lamp.

I had the LEDs put on when new to get the two year warranty and I had the turn signals programmed to be brake lights. The three LED brake lights are very noticeable, even in sunlight. The H-D lights have a good lighting pattern to them.

I put on the Kuryakyn 9198 curved tip-back license plate holder. I thought it looked better with the TourPak than a lay-down design. On sale now for $40.

An essential accessory for bulletproof reliability is the Gremlin Bell. I got one from a friend when we rode through Uranus, Missouri.

Here it is hanging from the front exhaust mounting boss. There are many theories as to how these bells function. It seemed natural to get one from Uranus.

I made some minor changes to the ignition system. I like the phat SE plug wires. Be sure to put a light coating of silicone grease on the spark plug porcelain and in the rubber boots.
I got a set of the SE standard compression dual platinum spark plugs. They should last a lot longer than the stock spark plugs.
I also put on a set of the finned spark plug covers. They look good on an M8, I never used them on a twin cam.
For me, the ignition coil is OK without the accessory cover.

Thanks for putting your time into this chronicle. I’ve screenshot so many cool products.

a couple things.
How tall are you behind the 21” screen? I need a new taller screen but I’m struggling on the right height.

Also, for anyone on the fence. Dakota digital products are incredible.

I'm 6'3". The 21" windshield is about the shortest I would consider using. I get a few bugs on the face shield. My top helmet air vent/scoop is in the wind and works great. The Memphis Shades windshield I used is for the older model bike so you need the mentioned cross braces. I like the slightly smaller size and shape and I have a great view of the road surface over the windshield.

I wear an Aerostich suit. The secret to it in hot weather is to get wind up the sleeves and out the back vent. This windshield is perfect for that. Just wear gauntlet gloves in cold weather and the heated grips keep your hands warm.
