Default Aftermarket exhaust does not fit the bike

Hello all,

so after almost a year of waiting I finally got my hands on brand new Street Bob 2020. Today I wanted to put on the new exhaust (I bought V&H Big Shots Staggered), but the exhaust does not fit.. when I try to line up the headpipe to the exhaust ports on the engine there is a mismatch no matter what I do.

I tried measuring the distances of both OEM and the V&H exhaust (as seen in the picture below), and the OEM headpipes are 1/4" further away than the headpipes on V&H exhaust. Is there anything I can do to make it work, or do I need to get a replacement exhaust? I never did a exhaust change before, so I am kind of at a loss. When I try to put the OEM exhaust back, it lines up perfectly with the engine exhaust ports.

Thanks for any help!

bolt up the rear and then pull really hard on the front to open the gap a bit and see if you can make up the 1/4" distance

You could make creative use of a large packing strap that ratchets..... or you could get in touch with V&H. They seem like a stand-up company and should look after you.

Don't try and force it together. Get in contact with V&H. May have gotten the wrong one or a bad build.

I already tried bolting one side and trying to force the other.. It does not bulge at all (but the flange did.. so now I need to buy a new circlip and flange ). And I dont really want to try and pull it apart with ratchets etc, because I am worried that some of the welds woud break. The part is correct, it is exhaust for 2018-2020 softails.

Thanks for the tips, I contacted both and V&H the seller. So we will see what will come out of that

Some models are for the wide rear ends. Wonder if you got some mixed up parts?

Might be, but it does not look like. It fits the front exhaust port and the support bracket.. just the rear exhaust port is off. I tried to capture the problem on the video to better illustrate it (sorry for the quality, my phone is not that great and my hands are shaky ). see here for original exhaust fitment: https://imgur.com/RYZ7omP and here for the aftermarket one: https://imgur.com/ATFi47w
