Default Downgraded fuel capacity

Just what everyone with a new softail has been asking for, less fuel capacity!
I know this isn't terribly practical and it's definitely not for everyone but I'm a big fan of the look. Put on this 2.2 gallon tank off a 48 Sportster last week (some modification to the rear mounts necessary). Sportster fuel pump is a direct plug in BUT fuel gauge doesn't work so I of course ran out of fuel on my second ride because I'm an idiot. Contemplating going to the 3.3 Gal tank off the 1200 Custom instead. Looks will be similar I think but a little more range. With this current tank I can get about 160km (100miles) which is almost exactly half of the range with the standard tank.
I know someone did this before, still trying to figure out how to get the fuel sender to talk to my bike...

Awesome!
I like the new Sportster graphics, like out of 1976.

Yeh I got this one cheap because it was scratched up so unfortunately I had to respray it. I am a fan of the new/old graphics though! Might look into getting some similar decals made up, don't think HD sell tank decals.

Uttlerly impractical. Needlessly restrictive. Totally get it!

Nice job I really like it ... I just registered to the forums when I saw this post so I could ask you a question regarding this tank setup lol ... I was wondering how easy it was to relocate what was into that black plastic box under the tank. I've seen a ton of Sportsters with relocation kits but never seen a Street Bob FXBB without it before.

Does it only contain cables that you taped together and placed along the frame under the tank?

Thanks
