Quick question does OEM tourpack has generic or tourpack specific key? I just bought one used and I doubt seller will have key so here I wonder if this is generic key or special cut one? If specific any chance I can order locking mechanism to replace it if needed?

 

The lock that costs AUD85 for the bracket that it attaches to (The bracket doesn't come standard with a lock) is a generic one, so in the end it doesn't matter much.

 

I am talking about lock that close tourpack and belonging inside of it not one for bracket

 

Yes, I get that, but if the bracket isn't secure then the lock on the bag isn't much use.

 

You are correct, unfortunately this doesnt andwer my question. I rather expect thief will look for easy pray to open and steal my belongings then whole tourpack assembly which sure can also happen.

 

When I purchased my OEM TP from HD , they matched the key to the barrel key my bike came with.

 

For this specific tourpack? My bike dont have barrel key anymore just proximity sensor fob and flat key to sadlebags.

I wonder if anyone ever lost key to this specific tourpack and what happened after that?

I was able to get picture of one of the keys for same tourpack and looks like this is tourpack specific (cut) key 😞

Now I need to know if HD sell this lock separately or if they can somehow replicate the key base on ......?
