Under the fender license plate mount.
For my 2018 Classic, I thought I would clear up the tail end. I did this on my 2006 Road King and liked the look. I bought the black Kuryakin curved license plate holder. Now onto taking rear fender off to drill factory fender support bar. I will take photos and keep you updated!

Drilled 4 holes in the rear under fender cross support bracket. Also made two brackets to bolt up to the support. These will allow a curved license plate holder to be bolted up. The bolts will be hidden behind the fender. Got an LED light strip to light the plate. Should be finished this evening...and will post more photos.
4 holes drilled. Make sure to find centerline or your plate will not be centered.
Went with two brackets 4” x 1” x 1/8” rather than one. The support is curved and this was easier to make.

ack...I dont like it, just being honest. Dont take it to heart, my two cents.
Use to be someone made a bracket that fit under the tail light light and located the tag under it instead of on the fender above the tail light. You had to buy his tombstone lens that stopped the light from shining upwards. I added a DC LED tag trim. a lil time and patience but it turened out very nice.
Pulled the struts from the frame so the fender stayed intact, wiring harness underneath the seat with a molex connector released it all, and converted it. Piece of cake.
That was cool, I did it on my '14 Deluxe. Forget who it was, doubtful he still around though.
