2020 low rider s
I'm thinking of trading my 2017 slim s for a 2020 low rider s, has anyone bought one yet? I rode a 17 low rider s which was a dyna frame, now they are built off the new softail frame, which may be a good change. I was told the handling is nite and day to what I have now. Any input is appreciated .

You really have to ride one to feel it out for yourself. The new M8 motor and frame is fantastic on every level, but it feels and sounds different to what you’ve ridden. Personally I think it’s great, but it’s different for everyone. I’ll tell you it outperforms and out handles any previous factory bike and loses the heat your ‘17 motor had. The Softails have also reported zero design issues with the new motor. I’d assume you’ll love it, but impossible to say for you.
From my limited experience on the Slim S I’d say the new frame sits a little less “in the bike” than the old Softail, but not as “on top” as the old Dyna. It vibrates differently than both. I think it feels great.
Some people have strong reactions to the looks...some love it, some hate it, some are neutral. For me, there’s visual aspects to the older bikes I miss, but plenty that I’m happy with too. In the balance there’s nothing to NOT recommend the new bike and I’ve loved my M8 Heritage, but I also have my ‘09 Dyna I’ll never sell because I’m attached to it for exactly what it is.
go ride them.
