I decided to run the side cover with adjuster because it makes more room under the seat and because I'll be taking saddle bags and a crash bar on and off so it's to adjust on the fly for weight differences.
Edit: I bought the shock for the extra travel not for the ground clearance.

...but it's also longer than the LRS one, right?
If yes, how much? Same as the Heritage one?

It's 1/2 inch longer to raise the bike 1 inch, but because of the 56mm VS 43mm travel can probably be ridden at a lighter setting for more sag.
It is the same length measurements as the Heritage shock. I don't know if valving or spring is exactly the same though since the Heritage is a heavier bike than the Fat Bob.

Thanks a lot Mike!
Can't wait to have my new LRS.
This will be one of the first mod I'll do.

Two things Mchad: J&P will just take back the seat no problem?

Second: how long are your arms? Sleeve length?

I am still struggling to decide on my replacement seat. (2020 LRS). Looking at Corbin Wall Saddle and the Mustang. But not settled on those or any others yet. Being able to try it out and send it back is a nice option.…..

I haven't tried yet Just getting over a bad cold - after flying. Figured with my luck someone with Corona breathed me on the flight. But I got better lol. But I've returned a seat to them once before so I don't expect a problem.

I'm 6'2" with 36" sleeve length. I'm going to give it another try in a couple of days just to make sure I wasn't being hasty.

Like many I have been struggling to find a saddle designed for taller riders which is a little frustrating considering this bike is clearly designed for a shorter rider. I contacted Mustang and they pointed me toward the same saddle Chad recently installed. LaPera indicated that they would release a long legs saddle for the low rider in March. I spoke with Corbin and they said they would take one of their production saddles and modify it as requested for no extra coin. I will try to get down to Daytona in March and see what they have to offfer. If anyone finds something to tall riders other than the HD tall boy saddle please let us know.

Please take pics and post this up when you do it. I too bought a Fat Bob shock and plan to replace the side cover, but probably won't get to it until the weather warms up (too many bikes and crap in the garage to work inside).

Great deal on the Shorai, BTW. Cheapest way to shed pounds off your scoot too!

Mchad,

Just bought a new horn to do the same thing you did....HD did not have an OEM horn (90 days and a hell of expensive), so I bought one from Bosch which is exactly the same.

What did you do to install the horn?

Thanks
