I think you said you were 6-2 so you are out of the average. I’m 6” mostly torso and while I added risers on my BMW GSA I found these to be damn near perfect. If they are 5” that would be ok with me. Only bars I ever hated were the road glide and if I owned one I’d probably get apes for it.

I try to balance my idea of looks and comfort, everything has to fit into a vision window. For example the Street Slammer bars on my last 2019, at the time, was a stretch for me but I liked them.
Everybody has their own window. If I owned two bikes I'd make similar changes to each one like you or just like that chopper show on TV, same bike all the time just slightly different. On some bikes a bar change means you also have to change the fairing (sometimes) to cover up the mistake.
I think the forum would be a lot more fun if we were allowed (encouraged) to cut loose with our criticism, a lot of stuff people waste money on is a mystery to me, starting with:

Yeah, I keep forgetting that. You are probably right!

I remember my S1000R and how the best I could find was 2" risers. Ended up not owning that bike very long. Just didn't fit me comfortably.

Have you tried the S1000XR?

I haven’t, but I just looked at a review. Looks amazing. However I can NOT entertain a third bike! At the very least not until I get out of this condo in NY and relo down south as we are planning.

The S1000R fit me pretty well, but my palms did tire on longer rides. The XR is amazing. You get a ridiculously fast ADV (had one for a day, shhh, don't tell the dealer I know this) bike that can do double-track dirt roads for days. I'm seriously considering that as my next bike when I tire of my 1250 GSA now they brought on the TFT display. And while I love my LRS and will have a bike like this forever in my stable, the XR with bags will smoke a stage 4 LRS LOL

I am fairly short at 5'7" and the bars are at a good height for me, the seat could be a little higher though.

6'4" here, will be probably use the stock bars with risers (8-10") after I find a seat that works. I prefer risers over t-bars as it allows for more adjustment.

Has anyone moved there gauges to the top of the risers like the FXR/FXD? I really like what 24V did with his tank and would like to do something similar while keeping the tach and speedo. I think this would look great while making the speedo and tach usable.

There are a few that have done it and posted on Facebook groups. The process is pretty much the same as the older bikes.
