I tried the plastic bag test that Ron speak’s of and got no air in the bag. Because of this and no oil in the filter I didn’t see any need. The other benefit of this mode that you are referring too was the main reason for the reverse in my decision.

today I took advantage of the rain to mount the big leather saddlebag I had on the Heritage at the start...
I like it, it gives it a bit of an adventurer look, and now at least I can take things with me, go shopping. I've always liked having at least one saddlebag on my bikes, it's very practical...
I think it's a bit low and too far back, so I'll probably change its position...

I'm going to reroute my vent hoses to the outside of the air filter first, as I did on the Heritage because since I've done it, my filter stays clean and that's what matters to me...
but after all, maybe the Trask is a plus too ?

the trask is supposed to eliminate or reduce oil from the head breather’s. Some do the external and trask. Some say doing the external breather takes away needed vacuum. I don’t know. I get very little oil from my head breather’s. The trask is a very nice piece, I now have replaced the 3 plastic parts that should not be on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The plastic intake manifold, the tappet cuffs and the plastic trans cover. Not saying they are problematic they are just ****.

I agree about what you say about plastic parts, I didn't know about the tappet cuffs...
I'll probably change the gearbox cover in a while, but for now I've got other priorities to finalize the ergonomics adjustment and also fit a fairing before winter. As for the intake manifold, I'd rather not touch anything, since my bike runs just fine as it is and I don't feel like tuning it...

A friend played magic on his computer with a photo he took of my bike.

"trask is on!!! "

Durham Man I did the balloon test, getting air pressure, also getting a little oil out of the breather on hard runs even though I',m running a half quart low. Trask suggests doing just the trans cover, did you vent the heads outside of the air breather also?

NG, no I did not vent the heads. I hear the trask is enough.

What I heard and read a few hours ago. Getting that cover soon. I'll spend the $$$ rather than fool around with that plastic cover. Thanks for the post about that cover/vent.
