Fat Bob front end on Sport Glide?
While checking out the H-D Battle of the Kings builds, I watched Laidlaw H-D's build video of their "Coast Glide". They talked about putting a touring front end with dual discs on and how much machining work and modification had to be done to make it all work. My first thought was "Why not use a Fat Bob front end?" Any thoughts on what kind of difficulties might be experienced in a bolt-on swap from a 2018+ Fat Bob to a 2018+ Sport Glide? I imagine some modification somewhere would be necessary, but while riding 2-up with a full tank and loaded bags, my brakes feel like they struggle a little at times and the upgrade may be justified to me from a safety standpoint. I don't want to be on a full touring bike yet, maybe never, and while I didn't see the Sport Glide as my "forever bike" when I got it, the more I ride it the more I like it and see myself on it for many years to come. This would be a long term project for me, but something I can seriously see myself doing if it will not require major machining or modification.

Why go through all of that problems to get dual calipers? The easiest way is to look and measure the brake caliper offset V/S your own existing brake caliper offset.. Next measure your new dual flange wheel and make sure they are symmetrical so the rotors align into the new calipers. Toss the existing caliper and purchase a pair of XR1200 calipers which are repackaged Honda Fireblade axial calipers which are way better calipers in a Harley designed package done for aesthetics only. Once you have verified all measurements and are sure it will work than you purchase a (L&R) pair of XR1200LA fork tubes or try and find a pair of bent forks than remove (R&R) your axle clamps with the XR1200LA axle clamps.
Please remember that the caliper mounts on a XR1200 and your bike is different and non-interchangeable. We make caliper adapters to convert to a 11 1/2" XR1200 rotor to a 320mm rotor. I also offer 25mm & 30mm R&T cartridges that work inside of these forks. Been doing them since 2009 when the XR1200 came out. Good luck on your wants & needs of your quest for a better bike. Please remember to measure and think out where you want to wind up before spending any money.
