I got the Cardo PackTalk Slim with JBL speakers. Sound quality is very good. I can play from my phone via bluetooth, tune fm radio through the Cardo, and talk to a pillion or fellow bikers on the intercom.

If you mean mounting speakers, not many Sport Glide folks do that. Not much room in or near the mini batwing, handlebar mounted speakers are fugly, and generally the audio quality is less and wind noise more than decent earbuds.

All IMHO, of course.

I am planning on the Steel Horse ST400 or ST600 2 speaker setup, as I have the Screamin' Eagle extreme heavy breather and the additional speakers will not fit on my crash bars. I have been researching sound options since I got the bike and Steel Horse seems to get the best overall reviews for quality and sound. Still trying to figure out where the amp will mount, I would like to keep everything up front instead of running it back to a saddle bag. I live in Oregon, where the possibility is high that I will end up in the rain at some point, so wherever it goes needs to be watertight or as much as I can make it. Going to see about a handlebar bag for the amp and speakers on either side of it.

I've searched all over the forum and cannot find much on audio systems installed on the 18+ Softails. I'm really looking forward to ordering one and getting it hooked up, I have the 5.5" windscreen that is being wrapped in gloss black vinyl, and I am going to get black speaker pods to make it all blend nicely. I am wondering if I can find a way to fit the amp into the lower portion of the fairing, although without my bike on-site at the moment I cannot take measurements. The amps being used are incredibly small, but I am also concerned about moisture. I may see if some weather stripping can be attached between the halves of the fairing to insulate it better. I'm chomping at the bit to get the bike back and start making more mods and figuring out where the stereo will go!

Best of luck, can't wait to hear how it turns out.

I installed the Road Thunder MTX speaker bar on my wises Sport Glide. Fits perfectly and performs great. Can hear at highway speeds really well.

I placed my order for the Steel Horse ST600 2 speaker system yesterday. Got a waterproof handlebar bag from Amazon, and a Kuryakyn 1 1/4" p-clamp to mount it. I am going to mount the amp inside it and use some small grommets to keep the wiring dry. Will post pics as the project progresses, can't wait to have tunes without earbuds!

Do you have a video and pictures on it mounted on the bike?
