Great thread this. I want to restyle my 117 LRS as a Sport Glide, to get the SG style and ergos with the LRS performance. Interesting some people have kind of gone the other way round. Lots of inspiration and useful info in here.

 

Are you going to start with Sport Glide rims and tires?

 

No. I want to keep the twin rotors on the LRS. I will have the LRS wheels sprayed black though. I really like the SG wheels but I want the LRS's stronger brakes.

 

Anyone ever tried a 200 tire on the OEM rear rim?

 

looking for the bags now, of some sort...but i am with you, i like the SG styling as well...my fairing is slightly smaller, but works well for me and keeps the look when not running bags. i did do the FOX 12.?? rear shock...much better ride quality.

Had a stage 2, torque cam and a custom header de-cat with a rhinehart slip on

 

I didn't use the stock tail lamps because I am using my stock bags,,, I wanted to improve the lights, however, so I bought some 2 stage minis for brake and turn and I will drill my fender supports and mount the lights to them... and take the wiring through the fender struts, The minis will fit find with the bags in place.
