Not an owner of KW but it shows how it mounts on their website. At 8" and the lip it should provide decent coverage for shorter riders. If that is too short Gustafsson makes one of similar design that is 12"

Thanks Vern Diesel when I asked about removal I was asking about the actual painted lower fairing as its quick release as I'm thinking about getting one for the FXLRS and want to see how I would go about installation?

Looks good OP, that's how it should be delivered from H-D. That full batwing can't cost any more than that little one they use now.

I gotta ask, what is the plug in thing hanging from the wall outlet by your bike?

FYI..
If your running the stock Fairing with 12" straight T-Bars, The freedom shield will touch in various places.
I switched to the Klock Werks shield and it works, Just a slight touch on the Clutch cable....
And I'm 5'11" and I get no buffeting........

Today I swapped out my S&S air cleaner for a DK customs 587 with a catch can. I was getting tired of the little bit of oil that was dripping after riding hard.

Pending replacement of the oil pump to the 2020 version, I went with a Fueling Vented Dipstick. (I have a 2018 bike.) Seems to have solved the blow by issue for me. I suspect in a few months when I change the oil pump to 2020 model it will be resolved completely.

Default New Fairing

Broke down and installed the Memphis Shades batwing. If I decide I like the way it works I'll get it painted to match the bike. Windshield is a 10" Long Rides medium tint recurve made for the fairing. Biggest pain was the de-pinning of the signal wires in order to pull them through the bars. Wasn't difficult to do, just raising the tank to get access to the turn signal connections and putting it back together was what took the longest.

Following others here who have done it, I replaced the tank mounted gauge with LR gauges. Mine are in a pre-wired KNS gauge pod and up on 10” Biltwell bars. I like the look of the tank mounted gauge…but I like seeing gauges and road ahead at the same time better.
