Imo,
Stage 1 with a SE tune is a waste of money. Anything SE currently markets is neutered by EPA regulations and lawsuit. SE(Harley) no longer markets a "tuner" or tuning product that can actually do what we think it does or should do. If you plan to go beyond Stage 1 just forget about it unless you use a product by another manufacturer. I say this while currently having a SE "tuner" in use on my '18 M8. I chose this. Why ? The easy answer is I was not aware (at the time) how the system works. Shame on me !!
I also believed keeping my warranty intact was the right thing for me to do. I soon after and currently no longer believe this was the right choice. (For me)
I want to get actual performance gains from the performance parts and products i buy, i intend to go beyond Stage 1 and better then SE Stage 3 and/or 4 in the near future. I currently like the 124" kits available and alternate tuning options by after market performance parts manufacturers. These companies are not bound by the same regulations as SE Harley is as a motorcycle manufacturer.
Point being, if your mods are geared towards performance gains, do your homework so you get what your after without wasting your hard earned cash.
