Anyone done an Arlen Ness inverted series air filter? Like This one. I have a tab slip on with zombie baffles and would probably get an fp3 with it Mostly looking for a little sound and a good base to add a torque cam later. Any input welcome.

Unless you enjoy lots of wind, buffering, and moderately comfy ride, I would personally go with a touring model for long commutes.

man I rode to work one windy day (~25miles one way).. I would say I had a pretty stiff neck that evening

An aftermarket screen could take care of that for ya.

Got myself Slipstreamer screen, got it on but haven't done any long riding since... when I went on a short ride I feel like I felt MORE buffeting at 60mph. I'm waiting for my lowers to get in and see if that'll help.

Default Performance mods

Hey here is my dyno chart for the following mods if anyone is interested in performance, most are just after bling from my observations.

Stage 1 was installed when I picked it up, Screaming Eagle big breather and slip on.
Stage 2 was TBR 2 into 1, S&S 475 Cam and a Power Vision tuner

Sweetness. Newb question here, but is the S&S 475 an HP cam or a torque cam. Judging from this, looks like a horsepower cam to me. That looks like a lot of fun.

Most would call the 475 a horsepower cam not that it has a bad torque curve with a good 2-1. jtodd you reference yourself as a newb. One thing to consider is that the PV & 475 cam voids warranty and the TBR is likely not emissions or sound compliant. A deal breaker for some with a new bike not so much for others. FWIW my own bike with Harley tuner, SE-498 cam and S&S 50 state legal 2-1 exhaust retains full warranty meets emissions & sound compliance. It also sounds great and made 116 HP. This is not to knock NAC72's choice only to say that these are things that should also be mentioned and considered.

Thanks for that, Vern. I am about 18 months into my harley ownership journey. I have done a front suspension swap (progressive monotube shocks) and a rear suspension swap (legend air ride) on my wife's Deluxe and a handful of smaller things (a seat on my bike, a windshield swap (I have an FLSB), lots of chrome on my wife's bike, slip ons on both bikes... a few other things. It will take a few years to not be a newb, but I am learning. Thanks for the tip on warranty and tuners. I have a Tab slip on on my bike and planning to finish stage 1. I am thinking maybe Arlen Ness inverted and an fp3. I like the Fuel moto, but I own Macs and don't really want to have it as a "dashboard" anyway. Main thing for me is sound and "smoothness", not looking for massive power. Some increased torque would be nice and I think that is where I will focus when I go stage 2. Currently in the learning phase for that.

I knew I had seen your posts before lol its because we both have Sport Glides. Yea I wanted the sound change and more power for better acceleration. But did not want a horsepower bias cam like the stage 4 that requires a change in riding style to take advantage of it. Peak torque is roughly 3k on the stock cam 3,500 on the stage 3 cam and 5,000 on a stage 4 IE too high for the way I normally ride. I also did a 30/70 gearing change that very noticeably helped acceleration but may be beyond the scope of what you want to do. If your bike will be 24 months old before you do a tune & cam swap I would go with something aftermarket for both the tuner and cam. Your windshield swap may where we were on the same posts as I have posted that I put the Gustafsson 15" windshield on my Sport Glide fairing and have been pleased with it.

So, when you post 116HP, compared to NAC72's bike, are these both built on a 107" M8?
