What did you do to your 18+ softail today?

Back on the road, but what a twisty one this was. I'll keep it brief.
I didn't get the collet of the cam bearing tool fully inserted into the bearing. It sure did feel like it, but when I got the bearing out I could see part of the cage missing along with some needles. They fell inside the motor. No saving it at this point. Loaded it up and bit the bullet. My local dealer pulled the motor, split the cases, cleaned it out and re-assembled. Good as new now. Plus it's a lot faster with the new cam and my lightened wallet.
I've done at least 6 cam jobs in the past. This was not something that was beyond my skill level. I just fugged up and had to pay the price for it. Oh well, on to the next project.

Started the cam swap last night. I didn't get started until about 8:00pm, so I only worked on it for an hour and a half. It's to the point I need to heat up the lifter cover bolts and remove them. I was feeling a little too tired to tackle that so I stopped for the night. I'll hit it again after work today. Should go pretty smooth.
Two Brothers Turn Out is off and staying off. Replacing it with a Fuel Moto Riot.
Cut the pushrods out and pulled the cam cover. All looks good as I suspected.
Popped the chain and sprockets off
Cam support, cam and lifters are out. Everything looks like it was playing nice. No strange marks on anything. Bike only has 9,000 miles, so I didn't expect any issues, but I'm not the first owner so you never know.
I'll take a few more pics as I work on it tonight. My plan is to get the cam swap competed, then get after the intake manifold swap. I am going with the Fuel Moto cast intake and 5.5 injectors.

This is why I tell people when I did the bearing swap on my bike, "I made sure that collette went through the bearing and I kept twisting it in until it touched the flywheel." Because there's no reason to not do that, and it makes sure that collette is the entire way through.
They got that engine back together quick.

Yep. I've always used a slide hammer to get the old bearings out. It's a lot easier to see inside and know that you have the bearing fully captured. I did tap the collet into the bearing until it felt like it was all the way through, but it wasn't.
They got right on it. It went on the lift Tuesday and they called me about noon today to come get it.
I will say the CR480MT has a pretty nasty sounding idle and the Riot pipe is not quiet. So far I'm liking what I am hearing and feeling. I'll get some data logs done over the next few days and send them to Fuel Moto to see what they say.

What is this fairing bracket you speak of?… wait. I see Paul yaffee and for division makes some. Super expensive though. Pazoma looks like they make one too. Waiting for pics of yours.
