What did you do to your 18+ softail today?
#5621
Upgraded my Front Suspension today.
Progressive Springs for M8 Softail with Standard Forks (2018 Fat Boy FLFBS in case anyone finds this post via Google)
RICOR/DK Custom 49mm Intiminator Valves
Maxima Racing 10wt Fork Fluid(165-150)
1.75inch Preload Spacers(+.5inch from The Intiminators=2.25inch total spacer Preload)
Getting those caps back on is impossible to do for 1 person, and was a fight for me and my BF who both weigh under 150lbs.
The one thing in life where being skinny is a huge disadvantage.

Everything is wired up and tucked away as well as it can be with my spring seat. Set the bag on the exhaust with a towel to try to see a general idea of how it’s going to look.
It’s a little high but for the stock exhaust it’s as good as it’s gonna get. I’ll hopefully have them installed sometime next week and I can take it out for a ride before I head out on another deployment.
Hey Kadorja, I like your bike and it's color but you've put on a spring saddle, which is more in the chopper spirit, and you want to mount a hard saddlebag, which will also be very high. I find this a bit contradictory; it would have been better to have a leather saddlebag to stay in the spirit, and you should put a cover under your saddle to fill that big gap...
but that's just my opinion

Yes those top nuts on the forks are a PITA to fit.
I'll be very interested to get your feedback on the ride quality.
I already have the Progressive Suspension drop-in fork lowering kit (2" preload spacer) fitted but also have bought the RICOR/DK Custom 49mm Intiminator Valves ready to fit.
(Just need to get some 10wt Fork Oil).

Keeping the mechanicals all blacked out with the orange cycle parts works really well. When I get my Jackpot Riot I'm going to have it ceracoated black except for the end cone.

I personally keep my Twin Slash...
but it's obvious that a two-in-one would make it possible to lower the saddlebags like it should be also on the LRST...
what I meant was that on this model, which has a stripped-down bobber chopper feel, accentuated by a spring saddle, I felt that the hard saddlebags didn't match the style...

I personally can’t stand the look of leather bags. Honestly leather anything besides a seat isn’t my style.
I had a spring seat on my Crossbones just enjoy how comfortable they are and I want more storage for longer trips with the hard bags. The bags will be a little high up with my exhaust but it works out because I can use a larger pad across the pillion and bags for when my wife rides on the back.

It's your bike, no problem with that, and I respect your point of view. Besides, it's great that we don't all have the same tastes, that's what makes our exchanges so rich and our bikes so varied in style...
and even though I don't like those saddlebags, I think your bike's cool, I like this model...

@Big Al 59 I really like your black and Harley Orange color scheme. It they would have had one when I bought I would have got that. Plain 'ol black will have to suffice for me. Thanks for sharing pics.
